ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's stock exchange rose 0.19 percent, or 218.28 points, to open at 114,812.33 points on Wednesday.
Among all sector indices, the leasing factoring sector index posted the best performance, up 2.80 percent, while the holding index was the worst.
The BIST banking index increased by 0.26 percent and the BIST holding index decreased by 0.13 percent.
On Tuesday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 114,594.06, up 0.13 percent, with a 5.9 billion-Turkish lira (nearly $1.4 billion) trade volume.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange increased to 3.9940 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday. It was 3.9930 at Tuesday's close.
The euro/lira exchange rate rose to 4.9020, compared with Tuesday's close of 4.8970.
The price of Brent oil was $67.89 per barrel as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Wednesday.
