ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.64% or 620.34 points to start Friday at 97,199.04 points.
On Thursday, following on international losses, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index dropped 2.84% to close the day at 96,578.70 points with a daily trading volume of 6.6 billion Turkish liras ($1.18 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate decreased to 5.5600 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday from 5.5750 on Thursday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also dropped to 6.1760, versus 6.2060, and one British pound traded for 6.7480 Turkish liras, compared to 6.7740 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent oil sold for around $58.85 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
