ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.30% or 302.33 points to start Friday at 100,641.10 points.
On Thursday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index slipped 1.56% to close the day at 100,338.77 points with a daily trading volume of 8.4 billion Turkish liras ($1.5 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 5.7140 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, from 5.6980 on Thursday.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.3200, versus 6.3070, and one British pound traded for 7.2020 Turkish liras, up from 7.1260 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent oil sold for around $64.80 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Friday.
