ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index increased by 0.82%, or 804.71 points, to start Monday at 99,267.44 points.
On Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index stood at 98,462.73 points with a daily trading volume of 5.6 billion Turkish liras ($983.8 million).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 5.6710 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, compared to 5.7080 at the last week's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell to 6.3660, versus 6.3710, and one British pound traded for 7.3870 Turkish liras, while it was 7.4180 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $61.35 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Monday.
