ANKARA (AA) - Istanbul’s BIST 100 shares were up 425.73 points at the start of business on Wednesday.
The market rose 0.40 percent to open at 106,144.05 points.
Stocks in the banking and holding sectors rose by 0.46 and 0.35 percent respectively and the transport sector was the best performer, reporting a 0.54 percent rise.
On Tuesday’s close, the BIST 100 fell by 0.47 percent to stand at 105,718.31 points. The day saw a total trading volume of 4.7 billion Turkish liras ($1.33 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.5250 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Wednesday, compared with 3.5290 at Tuesday’s close.
