ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index started the day with a 367.41-point, or 0.34 percent, rise to open at 107.077,93 points on Tuesday.
The banking and holding sector indexes increased by 0.44 and 0.21 percent, respectively.
The mining sector index was the best performer, up 1.35 percent, while the construction sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling 0.11 percent.
At Monday's close, the BIST 100 was down 133.27 points, or 0.12 percent, to stand at 106,710.52 points, with a total trading volume of 4.6 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.29 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was flat at 3.5550 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Tuesday, compared with 3.5560 at Monday’s close.
