ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 0.51 percent or 378.01 points on Thursday to open at 107,409.75 points.
The banking and holding sector indices increased by 0.36 and 0.47 percent, respectively.
On the fourth transaction day of the week, all sector indices gained in value with the transportation sector being the best performer with a 1.32 percent rise.
The market closed at 106,861.99 points on Wednesday after falling 0.05 percent during the day.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.52 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Thursday, compared to 3.5260 at Wednesday's close.
