ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, reached 108,342.87 with an increase of 98.65 points or 0.09 percent on Friday.
On the last transaction day of the week, the banking and holding sector indexes were up 0.20 and 0.28 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the leasing factoring index was the best performer, increasing by 0.83 percent, while the telecommunication sector index started the day with the biggest fall, losing 1.81 percent.
The market closed at 108,244.22 points on Thursday after increasing slightly 0.08 percent during the day with a total trading volume of 6 million Turkish liras ($1.73 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3.4360 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Friday, compared with 3.4520 at Thursday’s close.
