ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, the BIST 100, rose 374.28 points or 0.36 percent to reach 105,292.05 points at the opening Wednesday.
The banking and holding sectors indices were up 0.38 percent and 0.57 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the mining sector index was the best performer, rising 1.53 percent, while the insurance sector index started the day with the biggest fall, losing 0.23 percent.
The market closed at 104,917.77 points on Tuesday after falling 1.52 percent during the day with a total trade volume of 5.8 million Turkish liras ($1.66 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.4830 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Wednesday, compared with 3.4930 at Tuesday’s close.
