ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 371.55 points or 0.35 percent to open at 106,819.09 points on Friday.
The banking and holding sector indices increased by 0.26 and 0.36 percent, respectively.
Among all sectors, the metal products machine sector index saw the biggest rise -- up 0.59 percent -- whereas the food beverage sector index had the highest decline, going down 0.16 percent.
At close on Thursday, the BIST 100 was up 1,143.60 points -- 1.09 percent -- to 106,447.54 points. The day’s trading volume was five billion Turkish lira ($1.3 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate slightly rose to 3.8720 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) on Friday, compared with Thursday's close at 3.8700.
The euro/Turkish lira rate also slightly decreased to 4.5540 on Friday morning, down from 4.5660 at close on Thursday.
Brent oil stood at $62.15 per barrel at 0657GMT on Friday, down from $62.20 in the last close.
