ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.16% or 184.95 points on Thursday, to start the day at 113,514.17 points.
At Wednesday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 0.16% to reach 113,329.22 points with a daily trading volume of 5.8 billion Turkish liras ($0.98 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9400 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Thursday, compared to 5.9390 at Wednesday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate also fell slightly to 6.5860, versus 6.5890, and one British pound traded for 7.7340 Turkish liras, versus 7.7280 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $67.50 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT) on Thursday.
