Turkey's Borsa Istanbul up at Tuesday open

BIST 100 index rises over 5 points from previous close

ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index opened on Tuesday at 1,457.48 points, rising 0.37% or 5.30 points from the previous close.

At Monday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index was up by 0.02% at 1,452.18 points, with a daily trade volume of 15.2 billion Turkish liras ($2.20 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 8.3900 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Tuesday, from 8.3860 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 10.2600, versus 10.2490, while one British pound traded for 11.9100 Turkish liras, up from 11.8960.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $68.34 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
