ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's crude oil imports increased by 10.7 percent to 2.1 million tons in December 2018 compared to the same month of 2017, according to a report released by the country's energy watchdog on Thursday.
However, the country's overall imports of oil products decreased by 10.3 percent in December to 3.1 million tons compared to December 2017, the Energy Marketing Regulatory Authority (EMRA) said.
The production of oil refinery products increased by 33.6 percent to 2.5 million tonnes. In addition, diesel and gasoline production was up by 11.5 and 11.4 percent, reaching nearly 900,000 tons and 433,000 tons, respectively.
In December, total fuel sales fell by 6.5 percent to 2.1 million tons compared to the same month last year.
