ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 0.6% to 867,760 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at local time 18.00 with 41,561 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed.
The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest daily point of 28,835 megawatt-hours at local time 05.00.
Electricity production totaled 868,720 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 0.5% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from natural gas reaching 244,534 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and hydro followed with 209,063 megawatt-hours and 142,315 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,548 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 7,508 megawatt-hours.
