ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's dairy production went up on an annual basis in the first nine months of this year, the Turkish Statistical Institute said on Thursday.
The amount of milk collected from cows climbed 2.1% year-on-year to 7.7 million tons in January-September, TurkStat said in a statement.
Integrated dairies produced 1.1 million tons of drinking milk during the same period, down 6.2%.
TurkStat data showed that cheese production from cow’s milk was nearly 554,500 tons from January to September.
The country produced 855,092 tons of yogurt in the nine-month period, up 1.4% from last year.
