ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak was hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington, Albayrak said on Tuesday.
“During our meetings with US Secretary of Treasury Steve Mnunchin and [Trump’s] senior advisor Jared Kushner to discuss the steps for boosting cooperation, we were hosted by U.S. President Donald Trump in Washington,” Albayrak said on Twitter.
“We conveyed the greetings and messages of our president [Recep Tayyip Erdogan] to himself [Trump],” he added.
Albayrak is in the U.S. to attend a three-day business event, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), Turkey-U.S. Business Council (TAIK), and American-Turkish Council (ATC).
He is accompanied by Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and Energy and Natural Resources Deputy Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.
