ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's gold imports rose by 21.1 percent to reach 28.52 tons on monthly basis in September, Borsa Istanbul announced on Friday.
The country's gold imports quadrupled year-on-year in the month, according to Borsa Istanbul Precious Metals and Diamond Markets' data.
The gold imports reached 289.71 tons in the January-September period of the 2017.
The figure was 43.37 tons in the first 9 months of the previous year and 106.19 tons at the end of 2016.
The country's official gold reserves reached 489 tons, according to the World Gold Council's current data on October.
Turkey also imported 4.97 tons of silver in September.
