ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's benchmark stock index, BIST 100, rose 897.73 points or 0.83 percent to open at 108,781.76 points on Monday.
The banking and holding indices went up 1.24 and 0.73 percent, respectively.
All sector indices recorded a rise on Monday morning with the transportation index showing the best performance with a 1.56 percent hike.
On a weekly basis, the BIST 100 fell 0.55 percent between Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Since the beginning of the year, the benchmark stock index has risen 38.75 percent and posted its all-time peak at 110,530.75 points on Aug. 28.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate fell to 3.7740 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) Monday, compared with Friday's close at 3.8110.
The lira also gained value against euro with the EUR/TRY rate decreasing to 4.3850 on Monday morning, down from 4.4260 at the close on Friday.
Brent crude oil price stood at $60.37 per barrel stood at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630 GMT) Monday amid Saudi Arabia's announcement that output cut might be extended for nine months.
