ANKARA (AA) - Turkey’s gross debt stock -- the outstanding debt of public sector institutions, the Central Bank, private companies and households -- stood at 806.4 billion Turkish liras (around $228 billion) at the end of May, according to the Treasury on Tuesday.
Some 490.2 billion liras ($138.6 billion) of the debt was in Turkish liras and almost 40 percent or 316.2 billion liras ($89.4 billion) of it was in foreign currency.
The central government’s debt stock stood at 794.5 billion Turkish liras (around $223.4 billion) by the end of April.
