BELGRADE, Serbia (AA) - Turkey's national women's volleyball team arrived in Serbia's capital Belgrade on Wednesday for the 2021 European Championship semifinals.
Turkey captain Eda Erdem Dundar told Anadolu Agency that they are excited as they will play for the CEV Women's EuroVolley semifinals.
"We are so happy as we have arrived in Belgrade. Everything is going well now. Everyone is healthy in our team. We are waiting for our rivals according to today's match," Dundar said as Turkey will face the winner of Serbia-France match in the semis on Friday.
The team is pursuing a victory in the tournament, she said, adding: "Please do not withhold your support."
Welcoming the national volleyball team at the Nikola Tesla Airport was Canan Aksoy, wife of Turkey's Ambassador to Belgrade Hami Aksoy, and representatives of Turkish institutions.
"We are very happy that they have arrived safe and sound. We support them. We are excited. I hope we will be champions," said Aksoy.
Turkey's national women's volleyball team won all seven matches they played in the 2021 CEV Women's European Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
