ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) on Friday provided food aid to 1,500 displaced families in Myanmar.
The aid was provided to families in need staying in the camps in the Sittwe region and its surroundings in Rakhine state, the TIKA said in a statement.
Families who had difficulty accessing basic food thanked Türkiye and TIKA.
According to UN official data, approximately 231,000 people live in camps in Arakan.
Cyclone Mocha, which occurred in May, caused significant damage to some 140,000 Rohingya living in camps in Sittwe.
Facing challenges without essential infrastructure and health facilities, Rohingya people encounter severe restrictions in accessing even basic food items.
