ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish Air Force aircraft flew in Romanian airspace as part of a NATO Enhanced Air Policing mission, the country’s National Defense Ministry said Sunday.
“Within NATO Enhanced Air Policing Mission 4XF16 and KC-135 Stratotanker from Türkiye AF 9th and 10th Main Jet Base Commands, conducted joint operation with RAF Eurofighfer Typhoon deployed in Romania and F/A-18 aircraft from @NATO countries Spain and Finland over Romania,” said the ministry on X.
Romania joined the NATO alliance in 2004, while Türkiye has been a NATO member for over 70 years.
