ANKARA (AA) - The total number of passengers carried by Turkish Airlines fell 10.4 percent this January-February compared to same period in 2016, the airline announced Friday.
Turkish Airlines carried 8.2 million passengers in the past two months while the company carried 9.2 million passengers in the same period of 2016, according to a filing on a public disclosure platform website.
The numbers of passengers carried in domestic and international flights were down 5.4 and 14.3 percent, respectively.
Turkish Airlines said that the company flew to 296 destinations last month, up from 284 in February 2016, due to an increase in international destinations from 235 to 247.
The company also said that the number of aircraft operated by Turkish Airlines rose from 302 to 335, including 12 cargo planes, in the same period.
The country's national flag carrier served 62.8 million passengers in 2016, up 2.5 percent from the previous year's 61.2 million.
