ATHENS (AA) – Türkiye’s Ambassador to Greece voted in Anadolu’s International photo contest on Thursday.
Cagatay Erciyes gave a thumbs-up to a photo titled ''Hope and fear” taken by Yassine Gaidi in the News category for “strongly depicting the sufferings and pains of irregular migrants.”
For the "Sports" category, Erciyes voted for "Sultans of the world," which showed the joyful celebration of the Turkish National Women's Volleyball Team after defeating Serbia 3-2 in the final of the CEV European Championship (EuroVolley 2023), becoming a source of inspiration for young people in Türkiye.
For the ''Environment-Life'' category, Erciyes voted for Sebnem Coskun’s photograph "Iceberg pool” for presenting Türkiye’s capability and enthusiasm to conduct marine scientific research as far as Antarctica.
Muhammed Enes Yildirim’s photo "We are all for one another” in the "Earthquake: Hope" category, which was added specifically for this year, received a thumbs-up from the ambassador for “intensely revealing feelings of unity, solidarity and hope.”
Erciyes also voted for Mustafa Hassona's “Demolition in Gaza” for “being one of the strong and concrete proofs of Israeli actions against international law, human rights and universal principles.”
Particularly on Gaza, he praised Anadolu’s work in the field which significantly contributed to raising awareness in the international community on the humanitarian catastrophe caused by relentless Israeli bombardments.
“Anadolu has become the eyes and ears of humanity in Gaza,” Erciyes said.
