Turkish benchmark stock index opens week on high note

BIST 100 rises 30.45 points at opening session on Monday

ANKARA (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Monday at 8,056.72 points, up by 0.38% or 30.45 points, from the previous close.

On Friday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed at 8,026.27 points, up by 0.98%, with a daily trading volume of 81 billion Turkish liras ($2.8 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.9412 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 31.4713, and a British pound traded for 36.6787 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $78.12 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $2,095.20.
