Stock exchange earns 91.5 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) - Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Thursday at 7,516.50 points, up by 1.23% or 91.53 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Wednesday at 7,424.97 points, decreasing rapidly by 7.08%, with a daily trading volume of 123 billion liras ($4.38 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.1485 as of 10.35 a.m. local time (0735GMT), while the euro/lira rate stood at 29.6705 and a British pound traded for 34.0810 liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.20 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,997.60.
