Turkish benchmark stock index up at Tuesday open

Stock exchange earns around 47 points at opening session

ISTANBUL (AA) – Türkiye's benchmark stock index opened Tuesday at 7,797.07 points, up by 0.60% or 46.68 points, from the previous close.

Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index closed Monday at 7,750.39 points, up 3.19%, with a daily trading volume of 99 billion Turkish liras ($3.54 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 28.0940 as of 10.40 a.m. local time (0740GMT), while the euro/Turkish lira rate stood at 29.9480, and a British pound traded for 34.4600 Turkish liras.

Brent crude oil was selling for around $90.60 per barrel, while the price of an ounce of gold was $1,986.85.
