ANKARA (AA) – The BIST 100 index started the day with a 3.08-point increase to open at 103,185.72 points on Wednesday.
The banking sector decreased 0.27 pct, while the holding index rose 0.19 pct.
Among all sectors, the mining index was the best performer with a 0.98 percent rise, while the wholesale and retail trade sector index started the day with the biggest decline, falling by 0.50 percent.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate dropped to 3.6130 at 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) Wednesday, compared with 3.6260 at Tuesday’s close.
The BIST 100 was up 2,085.48 points, or 2.06 percent, to reach a historic high of 103,182.64 points on Tuesday's close, with a total trading volume of 6.5 billion Turkish liras (approximately $1.8 billion).
