ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish retail brands aim to open thousands more shops overseas in the next three years, the United Brands Association of Turkey said Friday.
The association’s president, Sinan Oncel, said 99 companies currently operated more than 2,700 stores in 110 countries.
“We aim to increase this number [of stores] to over 3,000 by the end of the year and to 4,500 by 2020,” he told Anadolu Agency.
Turkish brands, such as LC Waikiki clothing, are spread across the globe but are most commonly found in Russia, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Iraq and Romania.
The Economy Ministry has established the Turquality campaign to support Turkish companies abroad.
