ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Cargo -- a division of Turkey's national flag-carrier Turkish Airlines -- was named "the Cargo Airline of the Year" by the Air Cargo Week magazine, the company announced Thursday.
"Turkish Cargo was awarded by Air Cargo Week magazine as the 'Cargo Airline of the Year'," it said in a statement.
The World Air Cargo Awards Ceremony, one of the largest awards in the global scale, was held in Shanghai as part of the Air Cargo China exhibition, according to the statement.
"The Air Cargo China exhibition is one of the most important fairs of the air cargo industry," it added.
The ceremony also saw other air cargo companies win prizes in ten different categories, the statement read.
The award ceremony is held every year and it is hosted by Munich and Shanghai in turn.
Turkish Cargo was founded as a sub-brand of the Turkish Airlines in 2000.
The company serves customers in over 100 countries and more than 290 cities -- 49 of them in Turkey.
