JERUSALEM (AA) - Turkish Consul General in Jerusalem, Ahmet Riza Demirer, paid a farewell visit to the Jerusalem Islamic Foundations Council on Thursday.
Demirer, who completed his diplomatic tenure in Jerusalem, was welcomed by Sheikh Azzam al-Khatib, head of the Jerusalem Islamic Foundations Administration.
Underlining the importance of Jerusalem, Demirer said Jerusalem and Masjid al-Aqsa belong to all Muslims and that this should be preserved.
Demirer added that he still feels like a Jerusalemite and he is saddened to leave Jerusalem.
Al-Khatib praised Türkiye’s stance on Palestine, Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, and thanked Demirer for his commitment to Jerusalem.
