LEFKOSA, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (AA) - Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar said Thursday that his country can make great contributions to the Turkic world.
Tatar was speaking at a press conference at Ercan International Airport after returning from the 11th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) held in Kyrgyzstan's capital Bishkek.
Attending the summit as the guest of honor of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, he said he was proud to represent his country.
Tatar highlighted the importance of the support that member states of the OTS provide to the just cause of Turkish Cypriots.
Noting that the future of the TRNC is much brighter, he said: "We can make great contributions to the Turkic world. We have great potential in this field.”
"We can contribute to the OTS by defending the rights and laws of the Turkic world in the Eastern Mediterranean and with the serious transformations that will take place here in the future, both with our airport, ports and the energy dimension in the region," he added.
