ANKARA (AA) - The executive committee of Defense Industry Undersecretariat will convene on Thursday to discuss the modernization of Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) and improvement of the defense industry infrastructure, according to a prime ministerial source.
The deal for the purchase of S-400 missile system is expected to be addressed in detail, the source added.
Prime Minister Binali Yildirim will chair the meeting that will see attendance of National Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli and Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu for the first time.

Turkey recently agreed to purchase the S-400 system from Russia.
The S-400 is Russia’s most advanced long-range anti-aircraft missile system and can carry three types of missiles capable of destroying targets, including ballistic and cruise missiles.
It can track and engage up to 300 targets at the same time and has an altitude ceiling of 27 kilometers (17 miles).
