Turkish economy expanded by 5.9% in Q1, economists estimate ahead of official figures' release

14 economists estimate economy hovered between 4.2% and 7% gain during January-March period

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish economy is expected to expand by 5.9% in the first quarter on yearly basis, an Anadolu survey found on Monday.

Fourteen economists estimate that the economy hovered between 4.2% and 7% gain during the January-March period.

Economists expected 3.38% growth in 2024, ranging between 2.9% and 4%, and 3.56% growth in 2025.

The Turkish Statistical Institute will release official figures on Friday.

The country's economy grew by 4% in the final quarter of 2023.
