Turkish F2 racer out of Saudi Arabian race after practice crash

'I am ok with no health problems,' Cem Bolukbasi says on social media, adds move was taken as a 'precaution'

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish Formula 2 racer Cem Bolukbasi will miss the remainder of the weekend in Saudi Arabia after a practice crash, Formula 1 confirmed on Saturday.

"I am ok with no health problems. After all necessary medical examinations and as a precaution, I have been declared unfit to participate in the races today and tomorrow due to the nature of the incident," Bolukbasi tweeted.

"I am very much looking forward to stepping back into my car and joining my team at the next official test in Barcelona and from there, the third round of the championship in Imola by being prepared the most powerful way mentally and physically. Thanks for your support as always," he added.

Bolukbasi, 24, was taken to a hospital for precautionary checks when he lost control of his car at Turn 10 and spun into the barriers.

Sunday's Formula 2 race will be held at 1335GMT at Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
