ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish prefabricated building manufacturer Karmod has continued to produce mobile toilet and shower cabins for new constructions in southern and central Türkiye, which were hit hard by twin earthquakes in February last year.
The firm continues to manufacture the toilet and shower cabins with assistance from the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IMO), according to a press release issued on Thursday.
In this context, 778 WC and shower cabins manufactured in the last batch have begun to be shipped to the region.
On Feb. 6, 2023, twin earthquakes devastated 11 Turkish provinces, causing thousands of deaths.
Karmod Manager Zekai Kucuk said ready-to-use WC and shower cabin units provide practical solutions to people’s needs in earthquake-hit areas
Pointing out that the firm has prioritized the building needs of the region since the first days of the earthquake, Kucuk said: "As the anniversary of the earthquake approaches, we continue to produce mobile toilet cabins for the region.
Kucuk said the firm has prioritized the region's building needs since the earthquake “as the anniversary of the earthquake approaches, we have to continue producing mobile toilet cabins for the region. With 778 toilet cabins in this batch, our production in the earthquake zone has reached 5,000 units."
He said there are almost no villages in Hatay, Kahramanmaras, and Adiyaman provinces that have not received mobile WC and shower cabins.
