ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish manufacturing company Karmod exported plastic silo storage tanks to Morocco, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The Casablanca-bound shipment, consisting of two 20-ton and three 5-ton polyethylene storage tanks, was transported via sea in specially caged containers, according to the statement.

Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod’s plastics division, said the tanks would be used by one of the country’s leading cosmetics firms in its production process.

“Demand for our plastic silo tanks has been rising, particularly from European countries and Northwest Africa, including Morocco and Algeria,” Ozturk said. “In the past three months, we have exported this product to Switzerland, Malta, and Morocco,” he added.

The polyethylene storage tanks, designed to meet high standards of food safety, are gaining popularity for their durability and practicality in the food and pharmaceutical sectors, Ozturk said.

“Our silo tanks, produced with polyethylene, are also favored in industries such as cosmetics due to their chemical resistance,” he added.

The manager emphasized that the tanks’ plastic construction makes them resistant to rust, a key advantage over traditional metal silos.

“Our tanks are made from long-lasting polyethylene, which eliminates the risk of rust, allowing the contents to be preserved for extended periods without degradation,” he explained.
