ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkish company Karmod, which focuses on prefabricated construction systems, is now exporting modular cabins to 136 countries with the recent addition of the East African country of Mauritius, according to a statement by the company on Monday.
Zekai Kucuk, Karmod’s CEO, stressed that they have solidified their leadership in the industry by delivering modular living cabins to 136 countries.
Kucuk said they produce modular cabins ranging in size from three to 50 meters (9.84-164 feet), saying: "Although our cabin structures are often called security booths in our country due to their usual use, they are used for many purposes worldwide. Our cabins have usages ranging from sales kiosks to offices, classrooms, health cabins, military facilities, and residential buildings in different countries."
Kucuk also gave examples of the cabins’ usage “such as libraries in Canada, healthcare cabins in Germany, combined and corporate product sales stores for famous football teams in the UK and France, residential buildings in Saudi Arabia, police security checkpoints in Nigeria, and military facilities in Qatar. In our country, they are widely used as security booths and bread sales cabins."
He also explained that the modular living cabins produced with glass reinforced plastic (GRP) technology have insulated wall and roof blocks, and boast climate control features in extremely cold and hot regions.
The same cabin can be used in cold climates like Siberia or hot climates like Saudi Arabia, he explained, saying: "With its modular structure, it is ready for use or can be easily installed on-site as a demountable unit. The cabins exported to Mauritius … will be used by security personnel working at a sports facility in the capital, Port Louis. The structures were transported to the country in a ready-to-use condition through sea container transportation."
