ESKISEHIR, Türkiye (AA) - Turkish Aerospace Inc Engine Industry (TEI) has received the "Design Organization Approval" required for the type certification of homegrown aviation engines.
The TEI has become the first company in Türkiye to receive approval for the certification of civil aviation engines, the firm announced on Friday.
According to the "SHT-21/EASA Part 21" legislation, approval requires the establishment of organizational and process procedures, the development of personnel competencies, and the definition of authorities and responsibilities through a systematic, planned, risk management-centered approach.
In the audits conducted by the civil aviation watchdog for compliance with the relevant legislation, TEI's design competence in accordance with international certification criteria was certified.
The international civil certification process of TEI-TS1400, Türkiye's first homegrown helicopter engine, will be completed with type certification after the approval.
