ANKARA (AA) - Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu announced Tuesday he will attend the 58th Presidential inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump at the White House on Friday.

In his address to Turkish academics in the capital Ankara he said they will discuss the issue of extradition of Fethullah Gulen, the leader of Fethullah Terror Organization (FETO) with the new government.

Cavusoglu repeated Turkey’s determination to combat terrorism, saying, “We are determined to maintain our fight against terrorism without making a distinction between good terrorist and bad terrorist.”

He said he hoped the relations between Turkey and the U.S. will gain momentum during the tenure of the new US government.

According to Turkey’s government, FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup of July 2016 which left at least 248 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

Ankara has also said FETO is behind a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police, and judiciary.
