ANKARA (AA) - Two PKK terrorists were “neutralized” in northern Iraq, the Turkish National Defense Ministry said on Saturday.
"The terrorists were neutralized in northern Iraq's Metina region in a joint operation by Turkish forces and the National Intelligence Organization (MIT)," the ministry said on Twitter.
The terrorist PKK often uses bases in northern Iraq, just across Türkiye's southern border, to plot terror attacks in the country.
Turkish authorities often use the term "neutralized" in statements to imply the terrorists in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
In its more than 35-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US, and EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children, and infants.
