MOSCOW (AA) – A Turkish foundation provided food assistance to 800 needy families in Uzbekistan on the eve of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
The aid by the Türkiye Diyanet Foundation was delivered to the authorities of the Vaqf Charity Fund within the Religious Administration of Muslims of Uzbekistan, said Mahmut Turk, the advisor on religious affairs at the Turkish Embassy in Tashkent.
Turk stated that the aid will be delivered to needy families in different regions of the country with the help of the Vaqf Charity Fund.
For his part, Vaqf Charity Fund official Mircal Kasimov thanked Türkiye for the assistance, noting that food packages will be delivered to families living in Karakalpakistan, Samarkand and Tashkent regions.
The food packages contain flour, sunflower oil, rice, pasta, tea, sugar and dates.
