ISTANBUL (AA) - Turkey’s housewares sector aims 15 percent growth in exports of 2019, said the head of a Turkish housewares association on Monday.
"We will focus on market diversification and different marketing instruments in order to achieve this goal of some $3 billion," Burak Onder, head of Turkish Home and Kitchenware Manufacturers and Exporters Association (EVSID), told a press conference in Istanbul.
Onder underscored that home and kitchenwares exports surpassed $2.5 billion in 2018, up 9.8 percent from a year earlier.
"We set Latin America, Far East and Sub-Saharan Africa as target markets for 2019," Onder said.
Also touching on the domestic market, he said the size of the market is around $6 billion, and the sector posted a current account surplus of $2 billion.
