ANKARA (AA) - Turkey's monthly unadjusted industrial production index is expected to rise by 1.44 percent for June, a group of economists said on Friday.

The 12 experts surveyed by Anadolu Agency predicted a rise in June from the same month of the previous year.

The unadjusted industrial production index in June’s survey ranged between a 4.8-percent decrease and a 4.9-percent increase -- an average of a 1.44 percent increase.

On the other hand, economists estimated the calendar-adjusted industrial production index will increase 4.2 percent and the seasonally and calendar adjusted index will increase 0.2 percent in June on a year-on-year basis.

Unadjusted and calendar-adjusted industrial production indices were up 4.1 pct and 3.5-pct, while the seasonally and calendar adjusted index was down 1.5 pct on a monthly basis in May, compared to the same month of 2016.

The term "calendar adjusted" is used to refer to data where calendar and holiday-originated effects are removed.

The Turkish Statistical Institute is due to release official inflation figures on Monday.
