Turkish interest rates to climb by another 250 basis points, economists say

According to 14 economists surveyed by Anadolu, Central Bank’s meeting next week expected to bump interest rates by 250 to 42.50%

ISTANBUL (AA) – The Central Bank of Türkiye is expected to raise its policy rate by another 250 basis points to 42.50%.

The last Monetary Policy Committee meeting of this year is set to be held on Thursday to announce the bank's decision on interest rates.

Expectation of some 14 economists surveyed by Anadolu hovered between 250 and 500 basis points.

At last month’s meeting, the policy rate was raised by 500 basis points from 35% to 40%.
