ANKARA (AA) - Football side Besiktas on Monday signed Turkish left back Umut Meras on from France's Le Havre.
The Turkish club welcomed the 25-year-old with a video post on Twitter showing Meras entering the Black Eagles' home stadium, Vodafone Park, picking up his Besiktas jersey from the pitch.
In a statement on Borsa Istanbul, the Istanbul club said that it would pay a transfer fee of €1.5 million ($1.7 million) to Le Havre.
The Istanbul club added that Meras sealed a three-plus-one-year contract.
Meras played for Le Havre since 2019, piling up 57 appearances for the French side.
Before his move to France, Meras had played for Turkey's Bursaspor.
