ANKARA (AA) – Borsa Istanbul was flat at opening on Tuesday as no significant macro Turkish data release was scheduled for the day.

The BIST 100 index was 0.02 percent or 14.05 points down to open at 75,529.52 points.

On Monday, the benchmark index was down 0.13 percent at the close of the daily session due to the Turkish lira’s ongoing tendency to depreciate further despite domestic markets starting the day higher with the optimism of global markets.

During the day domestically, only a consumer confidence reading is due in the late morning as is November consumer confidence data for the Eurozone.

The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate, which was at 3.3682 by the time markets closed at 5.30 p.m. (1430GMT) Monday, was relatively flat at 3.3670 at the open 9.30 a.m. (0630GMT) Tuesday.
