Turkish military operations intensified against the PKK terror group after a terrorist surrendered Wednesday to Turkish authorities at the Iraqi border, according to a statement.
The Turkish National Defense Ministry announced that a PKK terrorist, who escaped from a shelter camp in northern Iraq, surrendered to the border outpost at the Habur border gate.
"While the operations of our Turkish Armed Forces against the PKK terrorist organization continue with increasing intensity and pace, dissolution within the organization is also accelerating," it said.
In its nearly 40-year terror campaign against Türkiye, the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Türkiye, the US and the EU -- has been responsible for the deaths of over 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
