Turkish parliament speaker received by Turkmen national leader to talk bilateral relations

Numan Kurtulmus, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow also exchange views on situation in Palestine, Israeli attacks on Lebanon, current global issues

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan (AA) - Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus on Thursday was received by Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, national leader of the Turkmen people and chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, during his two-day visit to the country.

During their meeting, bilateral and inter-parliamentary relations between Türkiye and Turkmenistan were discussed, according to the Parliament Speaker’s Office

Kurtulmus and Berdimuhamedow also exchanged views on the situation in Palestine, including the war in Gaza, Israeli attacks on Lebanon, and current global issues.

Kurtulmus expressed his pleasure to be in Turkmenistan for a forum marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of famous Turkmen poet Mahdumkulu Firaki.

Stressing that two countries are brotherly nations with historical and cultural ties, Kurtulmus said they hope to continue developing their ancient ties on the basis of mutual respect, understanding, and common interests.
