ANKARA (AA) - Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim congratulated U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Friday for his success.
Yildirim congratulated Trump and wished the U.S. good luck over the phone, according to the Prime Ministry.
The Turkish prime minister told Trump that mutual efforts to take cooperation to higher levels would continue.
Meanwhile, Trump said Turkey was important to the U.S. and that he would prioritize Turkey-U.S. relations and an improvement of dialogue.
Trump will take the oath of office on Jan. 20 to become the 45th president of the United States.
